This is not ASP.NET related at all. This is only the "Everything Else" part of my little blog. It's about something that happened in the Dominican Republic that must be heard and read. These are my 2 cents to a fellow friend and to the hundreds of supporters out there.
This hash tag was born in Twitter yesterday (Saturday, June 11 2011) as support to our fellow friend Arturo Ruiz. This became a Trend immediately in the Dominican Republic as hundreds of people started to support and follow Arturo who was clearly stripped of his rights.

To summarize this long story, in one end we have Ing. Hiddekel Morrison (@IngMorrison) who proclaims himself as a Guru in Technology and Communications, spreading his word thru his blog, an article on Diario Libre , a TV show and Radio as well. This person also serves our country by sending unsolicited email becoming one of the biggest spammers in the country. His blog alone is filled with articles which are just Copy-Paste from other sources to which there is absolutely no recognition whatsoever. He also claims being "the first" in anything... apparently just because.
Because of the two latter points, Arturo created the Parody Account IngCopyPaste. It became an immediate hit as hundreds of followers joined @IngCopyPaste to laugh and enjoy the humor being offered. Arturo never went above the law and made sure he followed strict guidelines in his parody. Mr. Morrison could not take it. He "hired lawyers" to pursue Arturo with a FALSE (I'm sure it's false) Cease and Desist; served with a threat to sue and communicate his activities to his employer.

Arturo did not let anyone, except a few friends, know he was actually @IngCopyPaste. So probably Mr. Morrison went above the law to obtain the IP Address from which Arturo was feeding the parody account. This is a clear violation of privacy and not valid without a court order.
At this time, Arturo weighed that his job might be at stake so he did what most of us would have done. He complied by submitting an apology (from @IngCopyPaste) the "lawyers" requested and stopped tweeting from the parody account.
Arturo then went forward and let everyone know he is @IngCopyPaste. From his personal account he challenged Mr. Morrison to shut him up, that his opinions are his and nobody can take the freedom of speech away from him. "You are a fraud" he told Mr. Morrison.
Then lightning struck in Mr. Morrison's court. Everyone, and then some, started supporting Arturo. They started following him, and spoke freely about their thoughts on the matter. Everyone was in, personalities, lawyers, Doctors, real technology gurus, bloggers, etc. was there to support Arturo. So #TodosSomosArturo was born.
Todos Somos Arturo. We are all Arturo.
Update: The Truth Shall Set Us Free. (Monday, June 13, 2011)
At the end, the set of events that occurred did more damage than good. Mr. Morrison denies (does not confirm) any responsibility from the actions taken by these "lawyers". And a shadow of doubt hovers quietly above everyone that jumped into conclusions (including myself). Perhaps a 3rd party is watching from afar the chain reaction caused by the threat, laughing at the expense of others. Enjoying the way people came forward to support one side or the other. If so, Mr. Morrison is also a victim.
It's a dangerous game and some people are eager to play it.
Arturo now has (free) legal support to help him find the real person (or group) responsible since there was a clear violation of his rights. I truly hope they succeed because only then and there, the shadow of doubt will be gone and everything can go back to normal once again.
